CMSD Group Music Instruction
CMSD welcomes students our youth students ages 9-17 to study percussion instruments in a group setting.
Our classes are structured to welcome complete beginners, intermediate players, and advanced students through a flexible and sequential curriculum that allows students to explore music that is meaningful to them!

Meet our Percussion Faculty
Dewayne McAllister
Dewayne McAllister has been with the Michigan State Community Music School since 2009. He currently teaches youth percussion, adult beginning band and the adult concert band at CMSD. Before joining the Community Music School-Detroit, Dewayne taught at Detroit Public Schools as a music educator.
